OTR: Campus Car Fire

Suspended License

On Oct. 7 at 11 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for defective equipment. The driver was found to be driving with a suspended license and also had an outstanding warrant. Driver was lodged in the County Jail.

Defective Equipment

On Oct. 7 at 8 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Ives and Cedar Street for defective equipment. There was a warrant for suspect’s arrest. Suspect was lodged in the County Jail.

Stolen Battery

On Oct. 6 at 9:50 a.m., there was a report of a car battery stolen from a classroom in the Heavy Equipment Building. No suspects.

Stolen Cell Phone

On Oct. 6 at 4:20 p.m., there was a report of a stolen cell phone from the FLITE Library. No suspects.

Car Fire

On Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m., there was a report of a car fire in Lot 37. Victim stated that a lit cigarette burned a hole in the car seat.

Intoxicated Female

On Oct. 2 at 2:30 a.m., officers located an intoxicated female on Michigan Avenue near Linden Street. The subject was a minor and was ticketed for minor in possession (MIP).

Vehicle/Pedestrian Accident

On Oct. 2 at 8:45 a.m., two subjects went to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) in report of being hit by a car on Oct. 1 at 7:25 a.m. The victims stated that they were crossing the road with the pedestrian signal. The vehicle (which had a frosted windshield) turned into them and bumped their legs. The driver apologized and left the scene without being identified.

Ticket Totals

From Oct. 1 through Oct. 8, the Department of Public Safety identified 484 violators. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $8,380. Actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided, or reduced.
