Cover Design Could Make Magazine

U4U Magazine is a semi-annually printed publication for college students. Operated by Barnes & Noble booksellers, the 2010 cover design for the publication is the focus of a nationwide competition.

Written entirely by students, this is the first year the magazines front cover will be designed by a student.

“We’re really excited about the competition,” said Marie Policastro, Barnes & Nobel College Booksellsers’ manager of partnership marketing. “It will give the magazine even more of a student influence – from the inside out.”

Entrants can submit their design ideas online at u4ucollegemagazine.com where they will be reviewed by the magazines managing editor. Those selected to be posted on the site will be subject to voting by site visitors. The three designs with the most votes will receive gift cards from the competition sponsor, Express. The design with the most votes will be used as the cover for the 2010 edition of the magazine.

The deadline for contest submissions is Dec. 1, 2009. Free copies of the current issue are available in the James L. Lundberg Book store in the Rankin Center.
