Ferris AD announces retirement

Kirinovic retiring after 27-year career with the athletic department

Ferris State Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic announced his retirement at a press conference on June 2 after more than 10 years in the position.

Kirinovic, a Ferris graduate, has been the Athletics Director since November 1999 and served in the Ferris athletics department for 27 years. The retirement will be official as of June 30 and the university will conduct a nationwide search to find a successor.Prior to becoming the athletics director, Kirinovic served as Ferris’ associate athletics director for five years. Kirinovic also served as assistant athletics director, ice arena manager, fundraising manager and athletic business manager throughout his career.

Bulldog softball head coach Keri Becker will serve as the Interim Athletics Director. Becker, who serves as the Senior Women’s Administrator, has served as the softball coach for 13 seasons and led the Bulldogs to a GLIAC Championship in 2000.
