Women’s soccer suffers two tough road losses

The women’s soccer team had a rough road trip this past weekend as it lost to Findlay and then Tiffin.

In the first match against Findlay, the Bulldogs trailed 1-0 until freshman forward Emily Kraska tied the game with 10:35 left in the first half.

Unfortunately for Ferris though, that was the only ball that found the back of the net as they went on to eventually lose 3-1.

Freshman goalkeeper Rachel McCollum had a strong outing as she stopped nine out of the 12 Findlay shots on goal.

In the Tiffin match, the Lady Bulldogs were able to jump out to a 1-0 lead, but they were not able to hold on as they eventually fell in overtime, 2-1.

Freshman Hillary Braun recorded her first collegiate goal as she gave the Bulldogs the early 1-0 lead. It did not stand for long though as the Dragons were able to counter and tie the match only 1:47 minutes later.

McCollum had another solid performance as she turned back 11 shots on goal.

The two losses drop Ferris’ record to 7-7-3 overall and 7-5-2 within the conference.

The Lady Bulldogs will have a stiff test up next as they will be traveling to Grand Valley State to take on the 14-1-2 Lakers. n
