New PGM coordinator named

Following Matt Pinter’s retirement this month, the College of Business recently announced his replacement. Aaron Waltz has been named the new Professional Golf Management Coordinator. The premier PGA program at FSU was the first of its kind sanctioned by the Professional Golf Association of America in 1975.

Men’s ice hockey single-game tickets on sale

Single-game tickets for all the 2011-12 season FSU hockey home contests are now on sale. All tickets are available while supplies last and may be purchased at the FSU Athletics Ticket Office. Adult tickets are $12. Faculty/staff and senior citizen tickets are $10. Kids (K-12) tickets are $6. FSU Dawg Pound student tickets are $6 with a valid ID. Women’s cross country ranked 3rd in the nation

The FSU women’s cross country team was recently ranked 3rd in the nation by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Division II National Poll. The Bulldogs improved from being ranked 7th in the preseason poll, which was released in August. FSU surpassed the defending national champions, Grand Valley State University; currently ranked 4th nationally.

Women’s golf finished fourth in home invite

Sunday, the FSU women’s golf team wrapped up its own Bulldog Invitational in fourth place after final round play at Katke Golf Course. The Bulldogs shot a 312 in the first round before shooting 318 in the final round to finish with 630 overall. Sophomore Emily Rohdy led FSU by placing 7th overall with a score of 152. Grand Valley State University captured first place in the nine-team field with an overall score of 588 (292; 296).

FSU women’s volleyball player chosen as GLIAC North Division Honoree

Senior middle hitter Ashley Huntey was recognized as this week’s GLIAC North Division Player of the Week. The team captain played an integral role in the Bulldogs’ conference victories over Findlay, Hillsdale and Wayne State. Huntey contributed 43 kills, 28 digs, six aces, six total blocks and averaged 6.00 points per game for the three matches. FSU is currently ranked 23rd in the nation as the team is 11-1 overall and 7-1 in GLIAC action.
