A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Breaking and entering

Sept. 9 at 12:30 a.m., officers assisted the city police in the area of Michigan Avenue and Chesnut Street for breaking and entering. A subject was found running from the scene and the officer found the subject near Subway. The subject was lodged in county jail.

 

Destruction of property

Sept. 16 at 10:05 p.m., there was a report of malicious destruction of property in the Rock Café. The subject was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

 

Missing laptop

Sept. 18 at 10:10 p.m., there was a report of theft of a laptop in Merrill Hall. The case is still under investigation.

 

Illegal room entry

Sept. 18 at 9:30 p.m., there was a report of an illegal room entry in Hallisy Hall. Nothing of value was stolen from the room. The incident remains under investigation.

 

Girl fight

Sept. 17 at 7:10 p.m., there was a report of a fight at Bond Hall. The incident occurred in the laundry room on the first floor of South Bond.  It occurred the night before between 9 and 10 p.m. and involved a large group of females having a dispute over the washer and dryers. Anyone who has any information is asked to come forth.

 

Removed from campus

Sept. 17 at 11:20 p.m., officers assisted a report of a disorderly subject in Lot 39. Two were non-students and over the age of 21 and were drinking. The two subjects were removed from campus.

 

Intoxicated

Sept. 17 at 12:40 a.m., there was a report of an intoxicated subject in Clark Hall. Four subjects were ticketed for being MIP.

 

Possession of marijuana

Sept. 19 at 1:30 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious situation in Lot 4. Five subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for marijuana. There was a warrant request sent for one subject to the prosecutor’s office for possession of marijuana. 

 

Intoxicated driver

Sept. 17 at 3:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Ferris Drive for a stop sign violation. The driver was intoxicated and lodged in the county jail for OWI. One passenger was ticketed for MIP.

 

Large group

Sept. 16 at 1:45 a.m., officers encountered a large group of people on Michigan Avenue near Cedar Street. One subject was ticketed for MIP.

 

Improper handicap sign

Sept. 15 at 12:55 p.m., officers became aware of improper use of a handicap permit in Lot 36. The owner of the vehicle was ticketed and the police confiscated the displayed permit.

 

Erratic driving

Sept. 16 at 2:15 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle at Northland Drive at 14 Mile Road for erratic driving. The driver was intoxicated and lodged in the country jail for OWI.

 

Disorderly subjects

Sept. 15 at 2:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to Brophy Hall for disorderly subjects. One subject was ticketed for MIP and two subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

 

Quad troubles

Sept. 14 at 2:45 a.m., officers encountered an intoxicated subject in the quad. The subject was lodged in the county jail. Two other subjects were ticketed for MIP.

 

Wrong way

Sept. 9 at 1:30 p.m., officers assisted the sheriff department for a vehicle traveling the wrong way on the expressway. The area was checked and they were unable to locate the vehicle.

 

Ticket Totals: From Sept. 13 through the 20th, the Department of Public Safety identified 589 violators. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $9,710. Actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
