Softball team hitting on all cylinders

Six games were played this week for FSU’s softball team, and they came away looking better than ever before. This past Wednesday the team traveled to Northwood University for a two-game set, and the Bulldogs ended up winning them both by the scores of 6-3 and 13-5, which ended up in a mercy rule in the fifth inning. After the Bulldogs had to postpone April 20 matches against Saginaw Valley State University because of weather, they took on the Cardinals in four straight games spanning two days. On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs took home two victories by the score of 5-1 and 8-7 (eight innings), and then on Sunday the Bulldogs won the first game 3-1 and in the second game fell by the score of 13-12 in 10 innings. The Bulldogs hold a 5-1 record in their last six contests and it’s the perfect time to heat up as the GLIAC tournament is just around the corner staring April 28.

Bulldog runners take part in two competitions

Some Bulldog runners took part in the Mt. Sac Relays held in California and fared well. The men’s runners had one standout finisher as Ryan Chute finished 36th overall in the 1,500 meter run in an event that had over 1,300 runners. The runners who weren’t invited to California for the competitions represented FSU in the Al Owens Classic hosted by Grand Valley State University.
