Zeitman in charge

OL coach steps up in Annese’s absence

In the absence of Ferris Football head coach Tony Annese, who was suspended as of Nov. 6, assistant head coach and offensive line coordinator Rob Zeitman assumed head coaching duties.

The suspension overlapped the Bulldog’s game against Northwood University. Zeitman was victorious in his lone endeavor at the helm leaving Midland with a 42-10 win over the Timberwolves.

Despite the distractions cloaking the program, Zeitman and company had a relatively normal end of the week of practice.

“The players played with great effort on Saturday,” Zeitman said. “It was a very sound performance. That is a credit to the players themselves and the relationships the staff has built with their position players. Overall, it went as well as could be expected. We hope Coach Annese is pleased, as well.”

Zeitman will begin preparations for the final regular season contest vs. Northern Michigan University on Nov. 16 at Top Taggart Field, and and Annese will return to the offices on Nov. 14 and the practice field the next day.

“We have begun game planning for Northern Michigan,” Zeitman said. “We intend to have a sound game plan in place when coach Annese returns Friday for him to call a great game on Saturday.”
