Plow truck accident
On Feb. 11 at 5:30 a.m., there was a report of tow-car accident on Perry Street near State Street. A vehicle slid into a plow truck and the driver was ticketed for violation of basic speed law.
Shoplifting at Wal-Mart
On Feb. 18 at 7:20 a.m., officers assisted the sheriff’s department with a shoplifting report at Wal-Mart. The two subjects were lodged in the county jail.
Domestic Violence
On Feb. 16 at 12:50 a.m., officers responded to a possible domestic violence in Helen Ferris. The suspects were identified and the complaint was handled through the residence hall.
Property damage
On Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m., there was a report of Malicious Destruction of Property in Lot 9. There was a vehicle with a broken window.
Stolen vehicle
On Feb. 19 at 7 p.m., there was a report of a vehicle stolen from a resident of Bond Hall. The victim stated she loaned her car to a person who hadn’t returned it. The vehicle has been recovered.
Hit-and-run accident
On Feb. 16 at 5:20 p.m., there was a report of a hit-and-run accident in Lot 39.
Probation violation
On Feb. 15 at 10:45 p.m., officers investigated a suspicious vehicle at the car pool lot on M-20 by US-131. One suspect in the vehicle was arrested for probation violation and was lodged in the county jail.
Marijuana complaint
On Feb. 16 at 12:15 a.m., officers assisted Hallisy hall staff with a Marijuana complaint. One suspect was lodged in the county jail.
Vehicle Damage
On Feb. 18 at 2:15 a.m., there was a report of a vehicle damaged in Lot 4.
Suspended license
On Feb. 16 at 10:55 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street near Morrison Street. The driver was ticketed for driving on a suspended license.
Car crash
On Feb. 18 at 10:50 a.m., there was a report of a two-car crash in Lot 41.
Traffic block
On Feb. 14 at 9:50 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Ferris Drive for blocking traffic. The driver was ticketed for driving on a suspended license.
Stolen property
On Feb. 12 at 2:10 p.m., there was a report of property stolen from a room in Helen Ferris. The investigation for the case continues.
Accident in Lot 17
On Feb. 13 at 11 a.m., there was a report of a hit-and-run accident in Lot 17. The accident occurred on Feb. 12.
License plate stolen
On Feb. 11 at 10:40 a.m., there was a report of a license plate stolen from a vehicle in Lot 7.
Defective equipment
On Feb. 12 at 8:15 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for defective equipment on State Street. The driver was ticketed for driving on suspended license.
Trespassing in West Campus Apartments
On Feb. 11 at 12:50 a.m., officers assisted managers at West Campus Apartments for a trespassing complaint. The suspect was lodged in the county jail.
Ticket Totals
From Feb. 12 through Feb. 19, the Department of Public Safety reported 394 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $6,490. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
