The event showcases the university’s commitment to creating opportunities for its students.
Mindfulness stress-based reduction
An 8 week program at Ferris State University . FSU faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program from 6:30 to 9 in IRC 109 beginning Thursday the 23. The cost for a faculty or staff member is $150, students get in free.
Nickels appointed to Ferris foundation board of directors
Advocate of access to and the pursuit of quality higher education, Ferris alumni Dennis Nickels has been appointed to The Ferris Foundation Board of Directors.
Nickels is a 1969 graduate of Ferris’ College of Pharmacy. After briefly practicing as a pharmacist, Nickels’ commitment to higher education led him to the University of Notre Dame where he earned a Master of Business Administration from UND’s Mendoza College of Business in 1988. Nickels’ present-day involvement is built upon two terms of service on the Ferris Pharmacy Alumni Board and two terms as President of Regional Notre Dame Alumni Clubs.
An introduction to mindfulness
6-week program, participants will consider the current research relevant to each topic and discuss the practical aspects of integrating the information and practices into their lives. Diwali festival of lights
The International Student Organization will be having their annual Diwali Festival in the IRC connector from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. There will be traditional Indian food, games, songs and dance, and a brief introduction of the history of Diwali. There will also be henna done for a fee of $2.00.
