More than 6,000 fans flocked to Top Taggart Field to see the Bulldogs take down Northern Michigan 42-10 in their home opener, but the victory came at a heavy cost.
Senior starting quarterback Reggie Bell went down with an injury to his left ankle in the third quarter. Bell was later spotted on the sideline on crutches and did not return to the game.
