Volleyball victorious in new arena debut

Bulldogs sweep three teams at Ferris State invitational

The Bulldog volleyball team came out of their opening weekend sporting a 3 – 1 record.

The team held homecourt advantage, playing in the Ferris State invitational. The Bulldogs played four teams over a two day span. On Sept. 1, they beat the Thomas More Saints 3 – 0 before losing to the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs 3 – 1. Bulldog volleyball came out swinging on Sept. 2 when they cleanly swept the opposing Adelphi Panthers and the Indianapolis Greyhounds to the tune of 3 – 0.

Leading the Bulldogs through all four games was junior middle-hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape who collected 44 kills and 49.5 points in the invitational.

The three wins and one loss presents a strong debut in the brand new Bulldog arena. Last year’s team was not able to play in the new addition to Ewigleben sports complex before their season concluded.

Bulldog volleyball is heading west to Denver, Colo. this weekend for the Colorado Premier invitational. Their weekend in the Mile High city will have them faceoff against the Western Washington Vikings and the Concordia-St. Paul Bears before facing a team to be announced.
