Rude

Take the time to show your fellow citizen some common courtesy

I feel that I am a pretty even keel individual; it is pretty hard to get me riled up.

With that said, your everyday common rudeness really gets me mad. The reason is that in most situations where people are rude are spawned from pure thoughtlessness and a total disregard for other people.

It also makes me upset when I hear an adult sigh and say, “Oh, these kids nowadays.” It is not just the younger generation being rude, it is all the generations. From students, to teachers, to senior citizens, a lot of people seem to go about their day with blinders on. They can see only what is directly in front of them as they go through this world with tunnel vision.

The things that make me the maddest are just the little things. If someone’s hands are full, hold the door open for them (or even when they’re not carrying anything). If someone is waiting to turn, have the common courtesy to put your turn signal on to let them know they can pull in front of you. It’s not like you have to slow down to turn it on.

If you’re at the grocery store, do not leave your grocery cart in the middle of the aisle. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to take a deep breath and resist the urge to start pushing my cart at a dead sprint and start running into people who park their carts anywhere.

I am not saying we should all start donating all of our money to charities. All I am asking for is that people open their eyes and actually realize there are other people in the world other than themselves.

I understand everyone is in a hurry nowadays, but being courteous is not exactly time consuming. Even if it does take an extra two seconds of your busy day, isn’t being a good person worth that? n
