The Bulldogs ended the fall season with a third-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional II Tournament over the weekend in St. Louis, Mo.
Coming off of a fourth-place finish at the Tiffin Kyle Ryman Memorial, Ferris finished in third on both days of the regional tournament as it posted a team total of 597. The Bulldogs competed against 15 other schools at the event.
Host Missouri-St. Louis and Drury University finished tied atop the leaderboard with 586 strokes. Missouri-St. Louis was victorious in a playoff hole to claim first place.
Ferris seniors Garrett Simons and Joe Brown shot 147 to finish among four players who tied for sixth place in the individual results.
Junior Ian Straayer claimed the other top-20 finish of the tournament with a score of 152, netting him 16th place.
Senior Kyle Wittenbach moved up 17 places in the second round after posting a 38th place finish after the first round, as he posted a 154 to finish in 21st overall. Wittenbach was the top individual golfer at the GLIAC Championships on Oct. 4.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was freshman Trent Davison as his tournament total 155 placed him in a four-way tie for 26th.
The Bulldogs will have some time off before returning to action for the start of the spring season on March 28 at the North Alabama Invitational.
