The Ferris State hockey team is 4-2 overall this season after earning one victory against Ohio State over the weekend.
The Bulldogs are 1-1 in CCHA play following their conference-opening series against the Buckeyes. The Bulldogs had won three straight games before losing 5-3 on Saturday.
Ferris took a 3-2 lead after two periods thanks to goals by senior captain Zach Redmond and sophomore Kyle Bonis. Ohio State responded with two power play goals and added an empty-net goal in the closing seconds.
Senior Bulldog forward Nate Hennig continued his hot start in the first game of the series as he tallied a goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory.
Bonis scored his first goal of the season and added an assist on Friday night. Redmond has three goals and three assists for a team-high six points through six games this season. Hennig leads the team with four goals.
Senior goaltender Pat Nagle allowed four goals on 31 shots in the loss Saturday to bring his record to 4-1 on the season. Nagle has a 1.60 goals against average and a .932 save percentage in five starts.
The Bulldogs are back on the ice Oct. 29 at 7:05 p.m. as they host the Michigan Wolverines in a CCHA matchup.
