Blizzard delays Bulldog hockey game

Ferris, Alaska will play Saturday and Sunday

The Bulldog hockey team’s game against the Alaska Nanooks originally scheduled for Friday was moved to Sunday due to travel delays.

Ferris was scheduled to fly out of Grand Rapids on Wednesday morning, but was inevitably delayed due to blizzard-like conditions. The Bulldogs were supposed to be in Fairbanks by Wednesday night, but did not arrive until Friday afternoon.

The teams and the CCHA agreed to move Friday’s contest to Sunday at 7:05 p.m. local time. The teams will play tonight at 7:05 p.m. local time as originally scheduled.

The Nanooks are 9-9-4-2 in conference play and are fifth in the CCHA standings with 33 points. The Bulldogs are sixth in the conference with 32 points and are 9-10-3-2 against conference opponents.

Alaska is 7-3-2 at home this season, while the Bulldogs are 5-7-1 on the road. Ferris defeated Alaska 4-2 on Dec. 10 and lost 4-3 in overtime on Dec. 11 in Big Rapids in a series earlier this season.
