The Bulldogs are still in search of their first GLIAC Tournament Championship since 2006 after losing 73-71 to the Wayne State Warriors on Sunday.
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs received an at-large bid to the Division II NCAA Tournament. Ferris is the sixth seed in the Midwest region and its first round opponent is none other than Wayne State. The Bulldogs and Warriors will rematch on March 12 in the opening round of the national tournament at Bellarmine University in Louisville.
Bulldog senior forward and GLIAC Player of the Year Justin Keenan hit a jumper with 10 seconds left to tie the game 71-71. Warrior sophomore Mike Hollingsworth scored the game-winning basket on a tip-in with one second left to give Wayne State its first conference title since 1999.
Hollingsworth led the Warriors with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Keenan led the Bulldog charge with 25 points and 12 rebounds in his final game at Wink Arena.
