Battle Royal

Which two of these candidates deserve the crowns of Homecoming King and Queen?

Kayla Gordon: I am a senior studying Health Care Systems Administration. I am continuously involved throughout campus in many student groups and within the community as an Assistant Manager at Maurices. If elected Queen, I plan to continue that and be what the student body expects of someone in this position. I will be where you want and continue to represent the Ferris Student Body in only the best way possible, by doing community service and continuously giving back!  While at Ferris, some things I’ve been involved in are Delta Zeta, Panhellenic Council, Bulldog Pups, Pickell Desk Manager for 2 years, Entertainment Unlimited and the Honors Program.

Emily Kearney: For my campaign, I’m raising money for United Way because it’s something I’ve been involved with; so it not only shows voters the type of candidate I am, it also raises money for a good cause! I truly deserve to win this honor because I would be a good representation of the title. I’m active in many organizations on campus and volunteer whenever possible with a positive and friendly demeanor. I’ve grown so much as a person to being an outgoing leader from the shy girl I used to be that this would mean so much for me to win!

Carlie Zervan: My name is Carlie Zervan and I am a public relations major. I do little ditties like: Alpha Xi Delta, Student Fashion Alliance, Public Relations Student Society of America, and I like to pretend I am still in Music Industry Management (insert sad face). I think I should be the 2011 Homecoming Queen because I’m generally a good person. I’m not perfect, I make mistakes, but I own up to it. If you don’t know me, here is a little description: I like pretending to be a cat, eating candy, and I will talk your ear off about music.

Xue Lao: I deserve to be king because I have a great personality and I get along with everyone I meet. I’m easy to talk to and would listen to what anyone has to say. I’m outgoing and love to play sports in my free time, such as basketball and football. I’m also involved on campus with Sigma Pi International Fraternity and Graphics Arts Association and have also helped out in the Big Rapids community. Do What You Do Vote For Xue!

Tiara Adams: I believe I should be voted homecoming queen for a number of reasons. I have an unlimited supply of school spirit. I honestly do LOVE Ferris State University. I represent Ferris everywhere I go! I played varsity women’s basketball here four years and was voted MVP twice and served as team captain. I am a part of six RSOs on campus, two being prestigious Greek lettered organizations. I serve on the executive committee of all of these RSOs expect one. I believe in my campaign slogan, «Tiara deserves to wear the Tiara.» I’m am regular person just like you trying to make a difference on this campus and make my mark in world.

Karine Ma: The opportunity to be a Homecoming 2011 Queen candidate has been just great! The main idea behind my campaign is having fun and enjoying the experience! I want to meet as many people as I can so they’re not just voting for a random name, but know who their vote is going towards and EVERY vote is appreciated. Hopefully people will understand my main campaign reference and will keep me in mind when looking at my campaign items. I think I deserve to be Queen because I am a PROUD Bulldog and will have no problem fulfilling the Queen duties.

Jory Smith: I believe I would make a great Homecoming King for Ferris State University because I love being a bulldog!  Ever since my brother went here I always wanted to become part of the Ferris family.  This summer as an orientation leader I was able to share my love for this school with incoming freshmen and I think as king I would be able to share it with many more people. Along with school spirit, I am very active on campus and in the community. I would be honored to be Homecoming King 2011.

Nick Maus: “Hello Everyone! It’s that time of the year and Homecoming has approached and I am running for Homecoming King! My past three years here have been so much fun meeting all of you and getting to know everyone, but now I am in need of your help! I love Ferris State University and would be honored to serve as your 2011 Homecoming King! Please help me by showing your support!”
