If you’re anything like me, you’re probably freaking out about your future every second of every day.
I mean, it’s not like I enjoy worrying all the time. It just happens. I am constantly having thoughts like what am I going to do when I graduate? Am I going to get a job? What happens if I don’t get the internship I need?
Obviously, if you’re having these thoughts it’s because you care about what you’re doing and you care about who you’re going to be. And although having these thoughts is not always good for your stress level, I think it means you understand that in order to get to where you want to be, you need to have the motivation to get yourself there.
When I have one of those days where I feel that panicking is my only option, I try to tell myself not to worry because God has a plan for me. I try to tell myself that if I work hard and stay focused on my goal, I can get there because anything is possible when you want it to be.
I can sit here all day and try to convince myself to calm down, but sometimes it doesn’t work as well as if you hear it from someone else.
We all need to understand that although we may feel alone in our battle to a successful future, that it is not at all the case. As university students striving to create a promising future for ourselves, the constant pressure to become successful is felt among many.
Right now, we’re being told it is important to be involved and to create a name for ourselves, which is important. However, I think it is equally important to have faith in your future and to be positive about what is yet come.
With that, there is no doubt in my mind that the people who show their passion for what they are doing will be just fine. If we strive to be who we want to be, we may end up not only achieving our dreams, but also helping others with theirs along the way.
A lot of the time we can all lose sight of this mindset. However, I think most of us just need a little reminder.
Take a deep breath. The future is bound to bring great things.
