Fighting and drinking dilemmas

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

OWI

Feb. 19 at 3:10 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street near Perry Street for an illegal U-turn. The driver was intoxicated and lodged in country jail for OWI.

MIP

Feb. 25 at 2 a.m., there was a report of a large disorderly crowd in the West Campus Apartments area. One subject was ticketed for MIP and another for urinating in public.

Car accident

Feb. 20 at 9 p.m., there was a report of a two-car accident in Lot 27. Vehicle backed into another car that was driving out of the lot.

Suspended license

Feb. 21 at 4 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for equipment violation. Driver had a suspended license and was ticketed.

Fighting issues

Feb. 19 at 12:45 a.m., officers observed two subjects fighting in Lot 28. Two people were ticketed for MIP.

No license

Feb. 17 at 10:25 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for disregarding a traffic control device on South Street. The driver did not have a drivers license.

Wailing at Westview

Feb. 23 at 10:15 p.m., there was a report of subjects fighting in the Westview Dining facilty. Two subjects were identified and referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Another OWI

Feb. 25 at 2:45 a.m., one-car accident at the intersection of Sports Drive and Family Drive. Driver was identified and found to be intoxicated. Subject was ticketed for OWI.

Drunk driving

Feb. 28 at 2:25 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street near Bellevue for erratic driving. Driver was intoxicated and lodged in county jail.

Ticket Totals: From Feb. 21 through the 28, the Department of Public Safety identified 310 violators. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $5,720. Actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
