A fight, stolen GPS and car theft

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Illegal driver

April 14 at 10 p.m., traffic stop for expired plate at State Street at South Street. Driver was arrested for not having a license and lodged in the county jail.

Suspended license

April 15 at 1:55 a.m., vehicle was stopped at Perry Street for registration plate violation. Driver was found to be driving on a suspended license.

Another suspended license

April 14 at 12:10 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street near Perry Avenue for license plate violation. Driver was driving on a suspended license and ticketed.

Towed vehicle

April 15 at 11:30 p.m., stopped vehicle on State Street for equipment violation. License plate was expired on vehicle and was towed. Driver was ticketed.

Fight on Locus

April 15 at 12: 50 a.m., officers assisted city police with domestic fight on Locus Street. Parties were separated.

Stolen phone

April 15 at 4 p.m., theft complaint from Williams Auditorium. A phone was stolen from jacket pocket.

Vehicle theft

April 12 at 11:50 p.m., vehicle damage complaint in Lot 4. Car was driven without owner’s permission; still under investigation.

Ex-boyfriend complaint

April 13 at 9:55 p.m., harassment complaint at East Campus Suites. Subject was being harassed by ex-boyfriend.

Stolen GPS

April 15 at 10 p.m., theft from a vehicle at West Campus Apartments. A GPS and phone charger was stolen from car.

No licensed driver

April 15 at 3:50 a.m., vehicle was stopped on Perry Anenue near State Street for failure to use turn signal. Driver was driving without a license and lodged in county jail.

OWI

April 14 at 2 a.m., vehicle was stopped on Chestnut Street near State Street for no headlights. Driver was intoxicated and lodged in county jail for OWI.

Ticket Totals: From April 10 through the 17, the Department of Public Safety identified 297 violators. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $4,550. Actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
