A round-up of this week’s crime across the Ferris campus

Felonious assault

On March 21 at 2:45 p.m., officers learned of a felonious assault with a knife that occurred the day prior. The victim was threatened, but no injuries were sustained. The suspect was located and lodged in the county jail.

False alarm

On March 20 at 7:35 p.m., a fire alarm on the second floor of the ASC building was pulled by a small child. It was a false alarm.

One-car accident

On March 20 at 5:45 a.m., officers assisted the sheriff’s department with a property damage accident. It was a one-car accident on 14 Mile and 190th.

Officers assist

On March 18 at 7:15 p.m., officers assisted city police at Parkview Village Apartments.

Drunk and disoriented

On March 17 at 4:20 a.m., officers encountered an intoxicated subject near Vandercook Hall. The subject was disoriented and taken to the hospital.

Runaway juveniles

On March 16 at 7:10 p.m., officers assisted city police on North Warren Ave. concerning two runaway juveniles from the Grand Rapids area. The subjects were found and returned to their parents.

Disorderly in the drive-thru

On March16 at 11:15 p.m., officers assisted city police at Taco Bell with disorderly subjects in the drive-thru.

Assault near the Clock Tower

On March 21 at 10 p.m., an assault occurred in the Quad near the Clock Tower. It was reported that an unknown person come from behind and struck the female victim several times. The victim stated she heard a male’s voice. The victim had no visible injuries and refused treatment. The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to call FSUDPS.

Ticket Totals: From March18 through March 25, the Department of Public Safety reported 359 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $5,660. The actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
