Ferris Has Talent

New venue. New students. Same great talent.

Students will be given the opportunity to perform on stage and showcase their various talents.

Ferris Has Talent is a talent show put together by Stephen Weiland and Joshua Miles. Both are resident advisors in Bond Hall.

Miles had the idea of Bond Has Talent for one of his programs last semester. Weiland co-hosted the event and Bond residents were able to show off their different talents.

“After that program was over, I suggested to Stephen, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to give the whole campus this opportunity and hold a talent show in the auditorium?’” Miles said. Weiland quickly agreed.

Ferris Has Talent was created. The event will take place Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. in Williams Auditorium.

Angel Garcia, Ferris junior in automotive management, heard about the talent show and decided to sign up. As of now, he plans on singing and playing guitar to Bruno Mars’ “When I was Your Man.”

“I don’t usually find many opportunities to perform around here, so I thought it’d be fun to perform and see what the judges have to say,” Garcia said.

Miles explained that Ferris Has Talent is not designed to be a competition, but rather an opportunity for students to come and perform anything and everything. He just asks that it remains family friendly.

The judging panel will consist of Dr. Nancy Lashaway, Dean Leroy Wright and Student Government President Byron Williams.
