Bulldog Bonanza returns for another round, giving students the chance to get acquainted with the campus, community, and wide variety of freebies to be given away.
Bulldog Bonanza is a yearly event, which takes place in Wink Arena. Many local businesses, student organizations, community groups and select campus departments will pack into the building, each with their own table, to showcase what they have to offer Ferris students.
Everything, including admission to the event, is free. Many of the organizations in attendance will have handouts for students, which range anywhere from product samples to door prizes. There will also be sign-ups and information about many different student organizations.
“I think it’s a very important event,” pre-veterinary sophomore Katie DeCare said. “It presents a really good opportunity for students. All you have to do is go to one building and look for something you might enjoy.”
Required to attend Bulldog Bonanza for her FSU Seminar class, DeCare said she talked to a few of the groups present at last year’s event. Most seminar classes require students attend Bulldog Bonanza and fill out a bingo card to ensure students speak to different businesses or organizations. Bingo cards will be distributed by the booth managed by the Chamber of Commerce.
Included as part of this year’s Leadership Week, Bulldog Bonanza is cooperatively sponsored by the Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services and the Mecosta County Chamber of Commerce with BASIS PCS as the main vendor sponsor.
Bulldog Bonanza will be held in Wink Arena in the Ewigleben Sports Complex on Sept. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. Anyone with questions concerning Bulldog Bonanza should contact student activities specialist Teresa Fogel at ext. 5936.
