A round-up of this week’s crime across the Ferris campus

Backpack stolen

On Sept. 4 at 9 p.m., officers were called to the Student Recreation Center in response to a larceny complaint. A female student reported that her backpack was stolen between 7:45 and 8:30 p.m. The investigation continues upon video surveillance review.

Felony possession

On Sept. 5 at 12:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to Lot 28 in reference to marijuana paraphernalia being found. One subject was lodged for felony possession with the intent to deliver marijuana. The subject was lodged in the county jail.

Fleeing subjects apprehended

On Sept. 3 at 10:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to Lot 4 in reference to a marijuana complaint. Upon arrival, officers smelled marijuana, and several subjects fled the scene. One subject stopped, and two subjects were identified nearby. One subject was lodged for distribution of marijuana, and another subject was lodged for resisting and obstructing. Additionally, one subject was issued an MIP. The investigation continues.

MIP and marijuana

On Sept. 2 at 1:50 a.m., officers had contact with two subjects near the Science building. One subject was issued an MIP, and the other subject had marijuana paraphernalia.

Party at UPS apartments

On Aug. 31 at 1:28 a.m., officers assisted county units at UPS apartments with a large gathering.

Intoxicated subject

On Aug. 31 at 10:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Merrill-Travis lobby in reference to an intoxicated subject. The subject cooperated and was not issued an MIP.

Driver in possession

On Aug. 31 at 2:26 a.m., officers performed a traffic stop on Northland Drive. The investigation revealed the subject to be in possession of marijuana. The subject was lodged in the county jail.

Ticket Totals: From Aug. 26 to Sept. 5, the Department of Public Safety reported a total of 1,114 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $10,250. The actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
