Nonstudent arrested for carrying a concealed weapon

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Concealed weapon

On Sept. 13 at 2:36 a.m., officers performed a traffic stop near State Street and Cedar Street for an equipment violation. The investigation revealed the subject had a large knife in a black sheath and was subsequently arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, which is a felony. Additionally, a small amount of marijuana was found in the car. The subject was lodged in the county jail.

Marijuana odor

On Sept. 18 at 9:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to Clark Hall in reference to a report of marijuana odor on third floor. The investigation revealed a subject in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Marijuana complaint

On Sept. 17 at 11:34 p.m., officers were following up on a marijuana complaint at Miller Hall. The investigation revealed a subject in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The subject was lodged in the county jail.

Traffic stop

On Sept. 17 at 1:30 a.m., officers performed a traffic stop on Fuller Avenue near Clark Street. The investigation revealed the subject to have an outstanding warrant. The subject, who was also in possession of marijuana, was lodged in the county jail.

Stolen bike

On Sept. 13 at 1:35 p.m., officers were advised of a larceny complaint that occurred Sept. 11. A Trek 21-speed mountain bike with silver and black lettering was reported stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact DPS.

Suspicious subjects

On Sept. 13 at 11:49 p.m., officers were travelling near Lot 4 when they observed two suspicious subjects near a pickup trick. The investigation revealed the subjects to be MIP and smoking marijuana. Officers recovered a small amount of marijuana.

Controlled substances

On Sept. 15 at 2:40 a.m., an officer on bike patrol observed suspicious persons smoking marijuana in Lot 4. The investigation revealed a small amount of marijuana and prescription drugs. Two subjects were lodged at the county jail.

Dine and dash

On Sept. 13 at 7 p.m., officers were called to The Rock Café for two patrons, one student and one former student, not paying for their food. Subjects admitted to not paying for the food. A warrant request was sent to the prosecutor’s office. The student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Ticket totals: From Sept. 13 through 19, the Department of Public Safety reported 611 total violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $ 7,965. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
