Unidentified male strikes victim near McDonald’s

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Unknown attacker

On Oct. 2 at 2:10 a.m., there was a report of an assault on State Street near McDonald’s. An unknown male struck the male victim in the face before running off to the east.

Vehicle fire

On Sept. 30 at 10:50 p.m., there was a report of a vehicle fire in Lot 61. Two students were jump-starting a car when the cables overheated and began to burn.

Intoxicated student

On Sept. 29 at 12:40 a.m., officers were investigating a traffic stop on Northland Drive, north of 14 Mile, when an intoxicated student walked up and interfered. The student was found to be a minor and was ticketed.

Keyed in Lot 61

On Sept. 29 at 2 p.m., there was a report of vehicle paint damage in Lot 61. The car was “keyed.”

Broken door

On Oct. 2 at 11 p.m., there was a report of a glass door broken at the front of Bond Hall.

Suspicious situation

On Oct. 3 at 1:20 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious situation in Lot 19. One person was arrested and lodged in the county jail for possession of marijuana.

Two-vehicle collision

On Sept. 30 at 7:15 p.m., there was a report of a two-vehicle crash in Lot 2.

Marijuana complaint

On Sept. 30 at 9:45 p.m., officers investigated a suspicious situation complaint in the Nature Preserve south of Cramer Hall. Two subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for use of marijuana.

Outstanding warrant

On Sept. 29 at 12:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for not obeying a stop sign. The driver was found to have a warrant from Muskegon County and was lodged in the county jail.

Vehicle damage

On Sept. 29 at 11 p.m., there was a report of a vehicle damaged in Lot 39.

Littering complaint

On Sept. 28 at 1:15 a.m., officers investigated a littering complaint in Lot 62. The suspect was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Marijuana in Merrill

On Sept. 28 at 1:45 a.m., officers assisted Merrill Hall staff with a marijuana complaint. Two subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

No license

On Sept. 28 at 11:45 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for defective equipment. The driver did not have a license and was ticketed.

Expired plates

On Sept. 26 at 7:15 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Ferris Drive for expired plate. The plate was found to be improper, and the driver was ticketed.

Arrest warrant

On Sept. 30 at 9:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street. The passenger had a warrant for his arrest from Mecosta County and was lodged in the county jail. Marijuana was found in the vehicle and a warrant request was sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Multiple thefts

On Sept. 27 at 10:15 p.m., there was a report of multiple iPods and headphones stolen from the Student Rec Center.

Ticket Totals: From Sept. 26 through Oct. 3, the Department of Public Safety reported 352 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $5,990. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
