Ferris Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages are requesting more feedback on the new University Center lounge expo located in the IRC connector.
“We have been getting some comments, but not as many as we’d hoped,” Project manager for the physical plant and the coordinator of the new university center furniture Karen Simmon said.
According to Simmon, a Bulldog backpack, pullovers, and t-shirts will be given out at random to three students who have provided feedback on the furniture through Ferris’ social media sites.
Students and the campus community are asked to use social media to convey their thoughts on the furniture that will eventually go in the new University Center. The students can observe and use the furniture in the IRC connector or look at pictures through social media sites.
Simmon explained that social media is the easiest way to post pictures and general information about the new University Center lounge expo.
“They look super sleek and classy,” a student on the ferrisstateu Instagram page said.
Some of the comments have included approval or disapproval of the color and fabric of the furniture materials.
“What you see in the IRC connector are not the colors we’re proposing,” Simmon said.
The real colors can be found through pictures on Ferris social media sites. These sites also showcase more furniture that is not in the IRC connector.
Next week a table will be set up in the IRC connector for students to fill out surveys.
The new University Center will serve as a place to recruit incoming freshman, provide a place for students to gather and offer food and retail according to Ferris’ website. Furniture has been placed in the IRC connector for the campus community view and commentary until Oct. 28.
