Thieves enter Bond through window

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Bond Hall break-in

On Oct. 16 at 11 p.m., there was a report of a room break-in in Bond Hall. The suspects entered the room through an outside window. Several small items were stolen, including a belt valued at $300. Also reported stolen were game controllers, headphones and other personal items.

Expired license

On Oct. 10 at 11 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street near Cedar Street for an equipment violation. The driver was ticketed for having an expired driver’s license.

Roommate dispute

On Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., officers responded to a roommate dispute in East Campus Suites. Information was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for a warrant request.

Two-car crash

On Oct. 11 at 5:45 p.m., officers assisted city with two-car crash near State and Elm streets.

Marijuana complaint

On Oct. 11 at 12:30 a.m., officers assisted McNearny Hall staff with a marijuana complaint. Three subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Trespassed person

On Oct. 12 at 12:40 a.m., officers responded to Travis Hall in reference to a trespassed person in the building. The suspect was located and lodged in the county jail.

Disorderly subject

On Oct. 12 at 6:20 a.m., officers assisted Cramer Hall staff concerning a disorderly subject in the hall lobby. The suspect was ticketed for MIP and lodged in the county jail.

Subjects removed

On Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m., officers arrested two subjects for trespassing in the area of Lot 37. The subjects, who had been attending the Ferris football game, were intoxicated and told to leave. They were subsequently arrested for trespassing.

Neighborhood dispute

On Oct. 12 at 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a neighborhood dispute in the West Campus Apartments.

Gas smell

On Oct. 12 at 4:30 p.m., the fire department was dispatched to the West Campus Apartments on a gas smell. The gas was turned off and Ferris HVAC was called to the scene.

Custody dispute

On Oct. 12 at 3:45 p.m., officers responded to a child custody dispute in the West Campus Apartments.

Noise complaint

On Oct. 12 at 2:05 a.m., officers responded to a noise complaint in Finch Court. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Multiple MIPs

On Oct. 12 at midnight, there was a report of a disorderly subject outside the Rock Café. Four subjects were ticketed for MIP.

Drunk driver

On Oct. 13 at 2:50 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for erratic driving. The driver was found to be OWI and in possession of marijuana. The subject was lodged in the county jail.

Hit and run

On Oct. 15 at 4 p.m., there was a report of a hit and run accident in Lot 3.

Defective equipment

On Oct. 16 at midnight, officers stopped a vehicle on Maple Street for defective equipment. The driver was ticketed for driving on a revoked license.

Ticket Totals: From Oct. 10 through 17, the Department of Public Safety reported 524 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $9,130. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
