Suspicious person removed three times

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Suspicious person

On Oct. 18 at 9 a.m., there was a report of a suspicious person in FLITE. The suspect was removed from the university. On Oct. 19 at 5:30 a.m., officers found the same person outside the IRC. The nonstudent was lodged in the county jail for trespassing. On Oct. 23 at 11:45 p.m., a night custodian found the subject in the IRC, and he was once again removed from the university.

Car towed

On Oct. 18 at 2 p.m., officers towed a car in Lot 5 for unpaid tickets.

Officers assist

On Oct. 21 at 3:20 a.m., officers assisted the city police on a traffic stop on Bridge Street near State Street. One subject was taken to the county jail for possession of stolen property.

Suspicious activity

On Oct. 20 at 2:15 a.m., there was a report of suspicious activity in Finch Court. Residents were found pranking each other and were referred to the office of student conduct.

Marijuana complaint

On Oct. 18 at 11:45 p.m., officers assisted Merrill Hall staff on a marijuana complaint. A warrant request was sent to the prosecutor’s office.

No license

On Oct. 21 at 6:05 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for driving without its headlights. The driver was ticketed for not having a valid driver’s license.

Stolen wallet

On Oct. 17 at 5:50 p.m., there was a report of a wallet stolen from a room in Brophy Hall.

Two-car accident

On Oct. 18 at 1:50 a.m., there was a report of a two-car personal injury accident on South Street near Stadium Drive.

Harassment complaint

On Oct. 17 at 11 p.m., there was a report of a harassment complaint in Cramer Hall. The victim was receiving unwanted communication on her cell phone.

Disorderly subjects

On Oct. 17 at 8:50 p.m., there was a report of disorderly subjects in Bond Hall. Two subjects were referred to the office of student conduct.

Roommate dispute

On Oct. 23 at 10 p.m., there was a report of a dispute between residents in East Campus Suites. The incident, which was deemed noncriminal, was referred to the housing office.

More marijuana

On Oct. 23 at 9:40 p.m., officers assisted Hallisy Hall staff on a marijuana complaint. One subject was referred to the office of student conduct.

Two-car collision

On Oct. 22 at 11:40 a.m., there was a report of a two-car crash in Lot 35.

Another accident

On Oct. 22 at 4:25 p.m., there was a report of a two-car accident crash in Lot 33.

Improper turn

On Oct. 21 at 9:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for an improper turn in the FLITE circle. One subject was lodged in the county jail for possession of marijuana.

Ticket Totals: From Oct. 17 to 24, the Department of Public Safety reported 396 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $7,140. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
