Runner reports driver swerved to hit him

Reckless driver

On Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., there was a report of a reckless driver on Knollview Drive. The victim stated he was running along the road and the driver intentionally swerved at him. No one was injured. The investigation is continuing.

Fraud complaint

On Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m., officers assisted staff at the Westside Café with a person attempting to use another person’s student identification card to purchase food.

Graffiti damage

On Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m., there was a report of a sign damaged in front of McKessy House. Graffiti was written on the sign.

Drunk driver

On Nov. 21 at 1:50 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Perry Street near State Street for failing to stop at a flashing red light. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was lodged in the county jail for OWI.

No headlights

On Nov. 20 at 4:15 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for driving without its headlights on. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. A warrant request was forwarded to the prosecutor’s officer and referrals were made to the office of student conduct.

Expired plate

On Nov. 20 at 3:10 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for an expired plate. The driver was ticketed for having an expired driver’s license.

Illegible plate

On Nov. 19 at 10:50 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for an illegible license plate. The driver had a warrant out in Mecosta County and was lodged for the warrant.

Stolen laptop

On Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m., there was a report of a laptop computer stolen from a resident’s room in McNearny Hall.

Vehicle damage

On Nov. 18 at 5:15 p.m., there was a report of vehicle damage in Lot 3. The passenger side hood of the vehicle was dented.

Lot 39 larceny

On Nov. 18 at 9:30 p.m., there was a report of a larceny of miscellaneous items from a vehicle in Lot 39.

Room looted

On Nov. 17 at 9:45 a.m., there was a report of a larceny complaint in Brophy Hall. Items were stolen from a resident’s room. The investigation is continuing.

Multi-vehicle accident

On Nov. 17 at 4:20 p.m., officers assisted the sheriff’s department with a multiple-vehicle personal injury accident at the intersection of Perry and 215th Avenue.

Intoxicated minor

On Nov. 11 at 2 a.m., officers were dispatched to a disorderly person complaint in Clark Hall. An intoxicated minor was ticketed for MIP.

Excessive speed

On Nov. 17 at 3:10 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on South Street for excessive speed. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was lodged in the county jail for OWI.

Marijuana complaint

On Nov. 17 at 7:40 p.m., officers assisted Cramer Hall staff concerning a marijuana complaint. Two subjects were referred to the officer of student conduct. A warrant request was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for possession of marijuana.

Ticket total: From Nov. 14 to 21, the Department of Public Safety reported 378 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $6,140. The actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
