Drunk driver lodged in county jail

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Erratic driving

On Jan. 22 at 12:50 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle near South St. and State St. for erratic driving. The driver was intoxicated and lodged in the county jail.

Hit and run

On Jan. 21 at 10:30 p.m., there was a report of a hit and run accident in lot 61.

Shoplifting

On Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m., officers assisted the sheriff’s department with two shoplifters at Walmart. Two subjects were lodged in the county jail.

Marijuana possession

On Jan. 20 at 3:30 a.m., officers observed suspicious activity in lot 3. Two subjects were referred to the office of student conduct for possession of marijuana.

No license

On Jan. 19 at 10:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on North Campus Dr. near Warren Ave. for failure to dim headlights. The operator was arrested for driving without license.

Marijuana complaint

On Jan. 17 at 7:15 p.m., officers assisted hall staff in Pickell on a marijuana complaint. One subject was referred to the office of student conduct and a warrant was sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Reckless driving

On Jan. 18 at 2:45 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for reckless driving in lot 47. The driver was ticketed for same.

Marijuana possession

On Jan. 18 at 11 p.m., officers received a report of suspicious activity in lot 39. Two subjects were referred to the office of student conduct for possession of marijuana.

Revoked license

On Jan. 18 at 4:10 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State St. for driving with no tail lights. The driver was lodged in the county jail for having a revoked driver license.

Ticket Totals:

From Jan. 17 through 23, the Department of Public Safety reported 180 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $3,020. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
