Closer to the real world

Graduation Fair helps students prepare for the future

Ferris seniors can take a step closer to a world without textbooks and classrooms by attending the Spring Graduation Fair.

The fair will be held on March 25 from noon to 5 p.m. in the Student Rec Center.

“Students should attend the graduation fair because they can get so much done at one time,” Arts and Sciences Commencement Coordinator Barbara Hampel said.

At the fair, students can pick up graduation tickets, purchase their cap and gown, and have their resume critiqued by Career Services, according to Hampel. Students can also order a class ring and graduation announcements, create a video message for family and friends to be played before the ceremony, and more.

“Students will love the fun atmosphere at the graduation fair,” Assitant Director for Alumni Relations and Event Coordinator Brandi Behrenwald said. “They can chat with their friends while they mingle with on-site vendors, grab a bite to munch on and register to win prizes from all the college departments.”

According to Behrenwald, 800 to 1,000 students are expected to attend the Spring Graduation Fair.

“I am hoping to get everything I need to accomplish a smooth closing to my final year of college with the help of the graduation fair,” integrated studies senior Shelby Cox said.

For students who are unable to attend the fair, ceremony tickets can be picked up from the college commencement coordinator starting March 26. Each student is eligible for six tickets. Children 2 years old and younger aren’t required to have a ticket.

Caps and gowns may also be purchased at the Ferris State University Bookstore between March 26 and May 8.

The Spring Graduation Fair is sponsored by the Ferris State University Bookstore, the Alumni office and the Commencement office.
