Nov. 5, 10:30 p.m., officers investigated a harassment complaint in Big Rapids and escorted a female victim back to her residence.

Weed complaint

Nov. 6, 1:30 p.m., officers investigated a marijuana complaint at West Campus Apartments. The incident was handled by housing staff.

Assault

Nov. 6, 2:30 p.m., officers investigated an assault complaint in Bond Hall. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

That smell

Nov. 6, 11:20 p.m., officers investigated a marijuana complaint in Travis Hall. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Domestic assault

Nov. 7, 11:40 a.m., officers stood by to assist the sheriff department in response to a domestic assault at Ryan Creek Apartments.

Found softball equipment

Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m., a softball mitt and two softballs were turned in to DPS from the west intramural fields. The owner is asked to retrieve them.

Turned down

Nov. 8, 1:45 a.m., officers responded to a noise complaint at West Campus Apartments. The students were told to be quiet.

Assault

Nov. 8, 3:45 a.m., officers were informed of an assault in Big Rapids. The victim did not wish to pursue criminal charges, but officers assisted her with retrieving her belongings.

More assault

Nov. 9, midnight, officers responded to an assault complaint in Ward Hall. A suspect was identified and referred to the Office of Student Affairs. He was suspended from Ferris while the victim did not wish to pursue criminal charges.

Butt grab

Nov. 9, 1:30 a.m., officers assisted the sheriff department with investigating an inappropriate touching complaint at Oakwood Apartments. The victim reported a male had grabbed her butt.

Stolen bike

Nov. 9, 1:30 p.m., officers received report of a bicycle stolen from a rack outside North Bond Hall.

Damaged bike

Nov. 9, 2 p.m., officers received report of a bicycle damaged on a rack near Lot 61.

Fight at SRC

Nov. 9, 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a disorderly subjects complaint at the Student Recreation Center. Three male students who had been fighting left prior to officers’ arrival.

Caught with BB gun

Nov. 9, 9:30 p.m., officers received the report of a handgun at The Rock. The subject was identified and was found be carrying a BB gun that looked much like a Beretta handgun. The student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

That smelly smell

Nov. 10, midnight, officers responded to a marijuana complaint in Travis Hall. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Student hit by car

Nov. 10, 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a hit and run accident at the intersection of North Warren Avenue and Campus Drive. A car had hit a female student and drove off.

Social media harassment

Nov. 10, 7 p.m., officers responded to a harassment complaint at Vandercook Hall. The incident involved a vulgar post to social media and the investigation continues.

DPS issued 457 parking and traffic violations between Nov. 6 and Nov. 12 totaling $7,410.
