This weekend the Ferris State track and field team had one person stand out above the rest.
Damonta Madden, a former Ferris State football player turned to track and field as his football career ended this past year and it is working out well for him. Madden took home first place in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash with times of 6.95 and 21.80 respectively.
Madden, a 5-foot-11-inch, 202 pound Grand Blanc native was also able to record an NCAA Division II provisional record in the 200-meter dash at the Grand Valley State University Tune-Up. His wins contributed for two of Ferris’ 19 top-10 finishes in their final tune-up.
The Bulldogs will be competing for the GLIAC championship in Tiffin, Ohio this weekend. The event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Feb. 28.
