The Ferris State hockey team is ready for a three-game series against Northern Michigan this weekend.
The Bulldogs take on the Wildcats on Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12, at Ewigleben Ice Arena at 7:07 p.m. If the two teams split, then a third game will be played to decide the winner at 5:07 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, also at Ewigleben.
The Bulldogs are the No. 4 seed and the Wildcats are the No. 5 seed in the tournament. Ferris State took on Northern Michigan four times during the regular season, splitting the series 2-2 with the most recent games coming on Friday, Feb. 12, and Saturday, Feb. 13 in which the Dawgs took the first game 5-1 but dropped the second 3-2.
The Bulldogs finished the regular season 15-14-6 overall and 13-11-4 in the WCHA while the Wildcats finished at 15-14-7 overall and 12-11-5 in the conference.
Now that playoff hockey has started, the slate is clean for both teams as they look to make a charge deep into the WCHA Tournament and possibly work their way into the NCAA Frozen Four tournament.
