Despite Ferris’ recent surge in athletic prowess across the board, tennis is earning its spot on the list of Ferris sports to follow this season.
Ferris men’s tennis is gearing up for a new season with high expectations after the first Final Four appearance in Bulldog history last season.
The Bulldogs look set to repeat the success of last year returning most of the players that led to Ferris’ 25-5 finish. They looked comfortable enough at home in 2015, going undefeated, but coming to Big Rapids in 2016 could look hopeless for the competition as the Bulldogs have another year of experience.
Men’s tennis was one of five Ferris sports teams last year to reach at least the Sweet Sixteen in its respective tournament last year. This team had the deepest postseason run of all of them.
The Dawgs will open the season in exhibition action at the Warhawk Invitational in Whitewater, Wis. on Sept. 9. Two days of action there will gear up Ferris for the ITA Midwest Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. on Sept. 16-18.
Ferris will be closing out the first month with the Bulldog Invitational in Big Rapids on Sept. 23.
