At approximately 2 p.m. Sept. 22, fire alarms went off in the College of Business. Students milled around in confusion, collecting their things and heading to the doors.

Upon reaching the hallways, various administrators were loudly informing the crowds that this was in fact not a drill and that they need to immeadiately leave the building and head out toward the street.

There was apparently a report of smoke and emergency services responded, arriving on the scene. Upon hearing students had not been evacuated, the alarm was pulled.

Ferris fourth year architecture student Drew Eder was in class at the time.

“Everyone walked toward the door, slowly and in a mob, but nobody panicked,” said Eder.

Whether or not the report was legitimate is unknown as the source of the smoke has not been found.

The Torch will update the situation as details become available.
