Sept. 10, 12:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious subjects in Lot 24 carrying street signs. Upon arrival, the scene was vacant and portable signs had been pushed over, but not damaged or removed from the scene.

Clearing the air
Sept. 12, 5:15 a.m., Big Rapids Fire responded to the Automotive Building to a smoke complaint. Smoke was discovered when the building was opened for classes that morning. A malfunctioning machine was found to be the source and fans were used to clear the building.

Wasn’t me
Sept. 12, 7:30 a.m., officers investigated a fraud complaint lodged by a student living off campus involving a credit card.

Break it up
Sept. 12, 8:15 p.m., officers assisted a student with a harassment complaint in Starr. The victim reported unwanted contact with another student and parties were told to leave each other alone.

Damn
Sept. 13, 8:55 a.m., officers investigated a report of a vehicle damage complaint in Lot 5. It occurred at some time over the previous evening.

Sept. 14, 6:20 p.m., officers investigated a report of money stolen from a room in McNerney Hall.

Puff
Sept. 14, 11:05 p.m., officers investigated a suspicious vehicle in Lot 28. Two students were found using marijuana and were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Sept. 15, 1 p.m., four arrest warrants were served to a female student regarding misdemeanors including two counts of contempt, failure to appear and a probation violation.

Sept. 16, 12:20 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious vehicle in Lot 61. Three students were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for use of marijuana.

Sept. 16, 12:15 p.m., officers received a report of a hit and run accident in Lot 1.

Sept. 16, 6:40 p.m., officers investigated a report of money stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Lot 35.

Sept. 17, 4 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious subject in Lot 39. A student was issued an MIP after being found intoxicated and carrying a traffic cone.

Sept. 17, 6 p.m., officers investigated a trespassing complaint in Brophy Hall. The suspect was found to be a repeat offender and an arrest warrant was issued.

Sept. 17, 10 p.m., officers investigated a suspicious vehicle in Lot 4. Two students were referred to the office of student conduct for use of marijuana.

Drunk and wandering
Sept. 18, 2:10 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious subject near Cramer Circle. The subject was found to be intoxicated and was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Sept. 18, 4:30 a.m., officers investigated a report of a subject vomiting out of a fifth floor window in Cramer Hall. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Slow down
Sept. 18, 3:15 p.m., officers pulled over a speeding vehicle on Ferris Drive. The driver was found to have a warrant out for their arrest and was escorted to the county jail.

Burger King bash
Sept. 19, 2:30 p.m., officers assisted city police with a two car accident near Burger King on State Street.

Sept. 19, 7:30 p.m., officers received a report of a harassment complaint. The student’s ex-boyfriend was bothering her via cell phone. Advice was given on steps to reduce contact.

Flying high
Sept. 19, 9:55 p.m., officers investigated suspicious persons in the area of Lot 61. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct for use of marijuana.

Highest honor
Sept. 19, 11:10 p.m., officers assisted hall staff at Miller Hall with a marijuana complaint. The incident was handled by hall staff.

The Ferris Department of Public Safety issued 364 parking tickets between Thursday, Sept. 15, and Thursday, Sept. 22, totaling $6,170.
