Playoff football ticket information, student fan bus set for Saturday
The starting time and ticket prices for Ferris State football’s matchup with Grand Valley State have been set.
The Bulldogs will take on Grand Valley State in the third round of the Div. 2 NCAA Playoffs 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Lubbers Stadium in Allendale.
Ferris State students can receive a ticket to the game and a bus ride to the stadium for $10. The tickets are on sale on a first-come, first-serve basis at Ewigleben Box Office. The bus for the game will leave Ewigleben at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.
Non-students can purchase their tickets for $15 by either calling the GVSU Ticket Office at (616) 331-3200 or online at GVSUTickets.com.
Women’s basketball still winless
The Ferris State women’s basketball team has started their 2016-17 campaign on the wrong foot.
The Bulldogs are 0-5 to start the season and have been outscored by opponents by an average of 23.4 points per game. Their last loss came at the hands of Lewis by a score of 82-57.
Basketball schedule changes
Both the men’s and women’s basketball games set for Thursday, Dec. 1, have changed their location and time due to the NCAA Div. 2 Midwest Regional Volleyball Tournament taking place at Wink Arena throughout the day.
The women’s game will now be played at 6 p.m. and the men will follow at 8 p.m. Both teams will be playing the Ohio Dominican Panthers at Big Rapids High School.
Former Bulldog called up to AHL
Former Ferris State hockey defenseman Brandon Anselmini has received his first call up to the American Hockey League (AHL).
Anslemini, 23, is now on the roster for the AHL’s Texas Stars, the National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars after an 18-game stint with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads. While playing for Idaho, Anselmini scored two goals to go along with nine assists.
While Anselmini was a Bulldog, he recorded 56 points in 149 career games, with 13 goals and 43 assists. The Guelph, Ontario native signed an AHL Standard Player Contract with the Texas Stars July 7, 2016.
Anselmini could see the ice at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, as the Stars take the ice against the Chicago Wolves at Allstate Arena.
