Brainstorm over brew
The Political Engagement Project will be hosting their first in a series

of brainstorming events at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, in UCB 116.

These meetings provide students with the opportunity to collaborate with

faculty and administration in brainstorming ideas for curriculum elements,

events, field trips and research projects they find important and relevant.

Students will also receive feedback and advice on how to develop and

fund their own projects. All participants will receive free Starbucks at the



Ice fishing tournament
Ferris’ Fishing Club will be holding an ice fishing tournament to raise

money for their organization. It will be held on Clear Lake, east of Big Rapids,

and is part of a series of five other tournaments. The registration fee

for the series is $40 per team and the entry fee for each team will be $40

per tournament. Cash prizes will be awarded to top placements. Those

interested in participating can contact Jacob Otto at or for more information.


MLK Day Observation
In recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be no classes held

Monday, Jan. 16.
