Foolish tampering
Sept. 17, 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to McNerney Hall where a subject was tampering with a smoke detector. The fire alarm had been activated and the subject was referred to the Office of Student Conduct for tampering with housing.
Bike thief strikes again
Sept. 18, 9 a.m., a student came to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to report that her bike had been stolen on Sept. 15. The bike was locked in the bike rack by Cramer Hall. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact DPS.
Caught on camera
Sept. 19, 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Pine Valley Suites for a broken window. A video revealed that a subject had broken the window intentionally earlier in the day. Further investigation revealed that it was the resident’s boyfriend. A warrant was sought for malicious destruction of property and the subject was trespassed from the area.
Roommates and boyfriends
Sept. 20, 4:04 p.m., officers were dispatched to Finch Court for a harassment complaint. The complainant advised that a roommate’s boyfriend had made threats. The subject was advised that further harassment and threats would result in a warrant and the subject was given a warning for trespassing.
Too much alcohol
Sept. 23, 1:45 a.m., officers responded to an EMS assist at Vandercook Hall. An investigation revealed a highly intoxicated student. The student was transported to the Spectrum Health Emergency Room and was referred to the Office of Student Conduct for underage drinking.
Pot problems
Sept. 24, 12:15 a.m., officers were called to Finch Court in reference to an odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed three subjects had been smoking marijuana. The subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct and warrants were submitted to a prosecutor’s office for their arrest.
Tube wars
Sept. 24, 2:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to Clark hall for a dispute. The subjects were arguing over people going tubing. The subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for intimidating behavior.
Hiding in plain sight
Sept. 24, 8:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to West Campus Apartments due to an odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed a glass pipe and officers could see a bag of marijuana sitting on top of the smoke detector. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
R-rated photos
Sept. 24, 11:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to North Hall for a harassment complaint. Officers learned that a subject went into another student’s room to show a student an obscene photo on the subject’s phone. An investigation revealed that the subject was removed from the room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
A total of 377 tickets were issued from Sept. 21 to Sept. 27, which totaled $4,355.
