Toronto, Canada: In an effort to be more inclusive, the Toronto Raptors released a new line of team-branded hujub (plural for hijab). The National Basketball Association (NBA) team worked with Nike to create the new apparel, claiming to be the first NBA team to offer the athletic hujub. The team’s marketing director said the idea was inspired by the Hijabi Ballers, a local organization that supports Muslim female athletes.

Barcelona, Spain: Torrential downpours in Spain have killed six people. The victims were drowned, swept away by rushing waters or trapped by the floods. Severe storms are an annual occurrence in this area, but they have been particularly severe this year. Some cities have experienced the heaviest rainfall on record.

Nassau, Bahamas: The number of missing people after Hurricane Dorian has dropped from 2,500 to 1,300. Government officials have been cross-referencing the names of those reported missing to the names of those who have sought shelter or were evacuated from the islands. Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis expects the death count, which is currently at 50, to drastically increase as the search continues.
