Blase Gapinski – Culture Editor

My name is Blase Gapinski and I am from Traverse City. I am a fourth-year student at Ferris, and I am majoring in Journalism and Technical Communications. I worked for my high school publication for all four years of school and after some consideration, I decided why not try and make a career out of it. During that time, I received an honorable mention for best review story from the Michigan Press Association Awards for reviewing Taylor Swift’s album, Evermore. I have now worked for the Ferris State Torch for two years as a reporter and this is my first year as the culture section editor. I take pride in my work here and enjoy being able to connect with and have a better understanding of the community. Outside of work and school, I spend time playing sports such as golf, disc golf and the occasional round of pickleball. I enjoy watching professional and college sports as well. My favorite type of music to listen to while I am working or doing those activities is hip hop and R&B. If there is anything that you think belongs in the culture section or if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me!
