Hello! My name is Ni’Jah Rankin and I am a radiology major here at Ferris. I am a sophomore this year and I have been working at the Torch as a culture reporter since the spring semester of 2024. I have never done any journalism before the Torch but I did have an AP class that involved doing research and writing essays and I enjoyed it, so I thought it would be fun to become a reporter. I love immersing myself in different cultures and shining a light on them through my articles. I occasionally do photography for my articles which I recently realized I enjoyed along with most other forms of art. I like to go to events all around campus during my freetime, along with hanging out with my friends in my organization. I also like to cook, go to football games and watch tv. I love to learn how to cook meals from all across the world and make my own recipes. My favorite genre to watch is a mix between sci-fi, fantasy, and drama. Being a reporter is a big part of my student life and I hope to continue to shine light on the various cultures around campus.
