In a post on Instagram, FLITE posted that they would be closing for the remainder of the day, after the cold temperatures caused the pipe to burst.

An email was then sent to students explaining that there was a water line failure. which caused the pipe to burst.

The Dean of Student Life sent an update to students at 7:17 pm about when they should plan on FLITE reopening.

Crews are working to repair the water line, and it is now expected that the FLITE will reopen at NOON on Thursday, Jan. 23,” wrote the Dean of Student Life.

This makes the second instance of a water break since the semester began, with a water main breaking outside North Bond Hall causing the Allied Health Building and the Michigan College of Optometry to go without water for a day.
