If you don’t have plans for April 21, you’re about to.
Ferris Fest is back, and it will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. in the quad. Most importantly, it’s free.
There will be two stages, with musicians All Time Low, Travis Porter, KingRut and Pharoah and more. In addition to the eight musical performances, there will also be activities such as a bounce house, photo booth and human bowling.
Evan Pazkowski, Entertainment Unlimited member and FSU freshman in music industry management, thinks Ferris Fest has improved this year by bringing in a rock band.
“Last year there was a hip-hop headliner; this year there will be a rock headliner, which has a higher production value,” Pazkowsi said. “There are more elements that go into a rock show, which could be more entertaining.”
Alex Lorenz, FSU junior in public relations and Ferris Fest coordinator, is excited for what she hopes is a great turnout for the event. Entertainment Unlimited picked the musicians by sending out a survey and then booking acts FSU students requested that were in the price range.
“Students can expect a wide variety of artists,” Lorenz said. “We have all different genres on main stage and also students on the second stage. They can expect to have a really good time.”
Many students are already familiar with All Time Low and Travis Porter, as they are prominent musical groups.
“It’s an opportunity for students to be a part of a free concert with some nationally known bands. It’s also free, so everyone should come,” Pazkowski said.
Lorenz is confident that the many activities and attractions of Ferris Fest will draw students in and ensure a great time.
“This is different than any concert I’ve ever been too because it’s a free festival,” Lorenz said. “Normally for festivals you’ll have to pay a lot, but not Ferris Fest. The fact that students can just walk from their dorms down to the quad and see All Time Low, get some food from Jet’s Pizza, and go inside a human bowling ball, all for free, is something pretty unique.”
The concert is open to the public. In the event of rain, festivities will be moved to the Wink Arena.
