No headlights
On April 21 at 1:03 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle without its headlights on. The investigation revealed the driver to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was lodged in the county jail.
Failing to stop
On April 20 at 1:19 a.m., officers performed a routine traffic stop in Lot 16 after a vehicle failed to obey a stop sign. The investigation revealed the driver to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was lodged in the county jail.
Resisting and obstructing
On April 20 at 2:17 a.m., officers performed a traffic stop in Lot 61 and found the driver to be intoxicated. The driver was ticketed with OWI as well as resisting and obstructing. The subject was lodged in the county jail.
Marijuana complaint
On April 18 at 9:45 a.m., there was a report of a marijuana complaint in Lot 4. The investigation revealed the subject had smoked marijuana, and the report was forwarded to the Office of Student Conduct.
Hitting the curb
On April 19 at 1:54 a.m., officers performed a traffic stop after they observed a vehicle strike the curb twice. The investigation revealed the driver was OWI and lodged in the county jail.
Stolen textbook
On April 17 at 2:18 p.m., there was a report of a stolen textbook from a room in Merrill Hall. The investigation is continuing.
Suspicious subjects
On April 16 at 11:59 p.m., officers observed suspicious subjects in Lot 28. Further investigation revealed a small amount of marijuana. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office and the Office of Student Conduct.
Damaged parking meters
On April 14 at 7:28 a.m., there was a report of a malicious destruction of property in Lot 31. Several parking meters were damaged. The investigation continues, and DPS has no suspects at this time.
Probation violation
On April 12 at 10:53 p.m., officers performed a traffic stop at The Gate. The investigation revealed the driver to be in violation of his probation. The report was forwarded to an out of county probation department.
Ticket Totals: From April 15 through April 21, the Department of Public Safety reported 208 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $3,340. The actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
