“Naked” author to come to campus

Relationship expert, author Harlan Cohen to headline five-star event

New York Times best-selling author Harlan Cohen will be speaking at Ferris for the second time, this time on the topic of relationships.

Cohen, author of the acclaimed college survival guide “The Naked Roommate: And 107 Other Issues You Might Run Into in College”, is coming to Ferris again courtesy of Entertainment Unlimited. Cohen’s first event at Ferris was in February 2011.

Cohen has spoken at more than 400 college campuses and has published six books, all focusing on relationships, romance, and the many things they involve.

Dubbed “America’s most trusted relationship expert” on his website, Cohen’s books and syndicated advice column “Naked Editor’s Blog” have reportedly helped millions of people find dates – while sober, he stresses – fall in love, and make the most of their college experience. The aim of the presentation will be to help students looking to find the “love of their life,” as the title his book “Getting Naked: Five Steps to Find the Love of Your Life (While Fully Clothed and Sober)” puts it.

“Harlan Cohen has come to Ferris before and done great. Everybody who comes loves him” Evan Pazkowski, music industry management junior and Entertainment Unlimited member responsible for booking Cohen’s return to Ferris’ campus. “His book, ‘The Naked Roommate’ is about to blow up, so that’s why we wanted him back.”

Cohen’s talk is being labeled as a five-star event, an event that aims to be both entertaining and educational. As a five-star event, attendance helps registered student organizations on quest for five-star status. Members of these organizations can show up shortly before the show, fill out a short form, and turn it in afterward to get credit. It is suggested any student interested should attend, regardless of affiliation with student organizations, as five-star events promise to be both interesting and educational.

Cohen will be performing at Williams Auditorium Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. For more information on Harlan Cohen visit helpmeharlan.com. For more information about the event contact Entertainment Unlimited at ext. 2610.
