Ferris State Volleyball rolled through the GLIAC tournament without dropping a set and will host the first round of the NCAA Div. 2 National Women’s Volleyball Tournament in the Midwest Region as the No. 1 seed.
The Bulldogs are No. 2 nationally in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Div. 2 Coaches Top 25 poll as of Nov. 23.
Senior all-american hitter Megan Vander Meer and junior setter Stephanie Sikorski earned first team all-GLIAC honors. Senior hitters Alexis Huntey and Caroline Heitzman, and senior libero Danielle Dowd took second team laurels while junior hitter Ayanna Buckley received honorable mention.
The Bulldogs are 31-2 overall on the year and have currently won eight matches straight as they will look to extend that streak against No. 8 seed Trevecca Nazarene in the first round of the national tournament.
The Trojans of Trevecca are 20-11 overall and will look to upset Ferris in Ewigleben Arena on Thursday Dec 3.
